About Paper:
host macrocyles Dynamic covalent chemistry (DCC) is at the forefront of many different synthetic methods projects, one of the main interests being macrocycle supramolecular chemistry. Within the realm of DCC lies a subfield known as host-guest chemistry, a field that seeks to complex molecules together using either covalent or non-covalent templates. An offshoot or rather, application of template-based host-guest interactions is the 194 UNIVERSITY OF OREGON • 2026 UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM TABLE OF CONTENTS field of mechanically-interlocked molecules or MIMs. In this project, the interplay between these fields will be explored through the modality of disulfide macrocycle self-assembly as a comparatively facile route to an [n]-catenane via a pseudorotaxane precursor.
